Define what must leave
List originals, meaningful derivatives, context notes and any external catalogue information required to understand the collection. A download of visible photos may omit captions or organizational relationships stored elsewhere. Check the actual package rather than assuming a provider-to-provider transfer preserves every useful detail.
Allow working space and time
A full export needs destination capacity and enough time to complete and inspect it. Keep the existing service active while verifying the replacement arrangement, subject to your own billing decisions. Do not cancel first and hope a remaining preview or cache will provide the originals later. No purchase or cancellation is performed by this guide.
Verify in an independent location
Open representative files from the exported package and check the expected structure, names and context. Include older sources and unusual formats, not just recent JPEGs. Keep a record of missing or unreadable items. A successful transfer status is narrower evidence than a collection another person can actually navigate and use.
A fictional exit decision
A household downloads the master files but discovers its identifying captions remain only in the old gallery. The move is not yet accepted. Preserve access and create an appropriate readable context export before closing the old route. After acceptance, update the copy map and maintenance notes so the former service is not still incorrectly listed as the current master.
Accept the destination before closing the source
Keep the export scope, destination capacity, representative opening checks and missing-context list together. Ask an authorized helper to interpret the resulting structure if future handover matters. Preserve the old service until the required tasks are accepted under your own billing and access decisions. The exit is successful when the collection is usable in its new arrangement, not just when a download archive has appeared on disk.
