Location and account region differ
Where a person lives does not necessarily identify the server region chosen for their account. pCloud’s invitation documentation says shared-folder collaboration requires accounts on the same EU or US server set. That is a product configuration constraint, not a statement about citizenship or whether someone is allowed to view your photos.
Choose the actual collaboration task
If someone only needs an approved viewing selection, a share-link route may meet the requirement without a collaborative folder. If they must edit a shared working set, investigate the current supported method and its limits. Do not change account region, create duplicate accounts or transfer valuable files merely to test a theory.
Keep access checks separate from migration
An invitation failure does not prove the photos are missing. Preserve the master and investigate the account and sharing configuration. Record the exact observed error without sending credentials or private images to unrelated channels. The service’s current help or account-specific support may be necessary if the documented route does not explain the failure.
A fictional mixed setup
Two relatives have accounts created in different regions. Their planned shared editing folder fails, but the immediate task is only to review thirty photos. They can investigate an appropriately restricted viewing route using harmless samples while retaining the original archive arrangement. A permanent collaboration change should follow a confirmed requirement, not an attempt to silence an unexplained error.
Check before changing the archive
Record the observed account-region constraint and the exact task that failed. Investigate a supported alternative on a harmless selection before changing an established storage arrangement. Do not treat another person’s physical location as evidence of their account configuration. The smallest useful repair may be a different sharing route rather than a new account, broad migration or unnecessarily expanded access to the master collection.
