pCloud free plan, free trial facts and the 14-day refund window

Last reviewed 6 October 2026

Quick answerpCloud's Basic plan is free and starts at 2 GB, rising to up to 10 GB, but its paid personal plans have no free trial, only a 14-day refund window. For a free trial, Sync.com gives 30 days.

Is pCloud free? The Basic plan in numbers

Yes. pCloud has a free plan called Basic: a new account gets 2 GB with no credit card, and up to 10 GB can be unlocked at no cost. pCloud's Beginner tutorial has five steps worth 1 GB each, and every verified sign-up from your invitation adds 1 GB, up to 3 GB.

One tutorial step is turning on Automatic upload, the phone-app setting that copies new photos and videos to pCloud one way, so photo upload works on Basic.

Is there a pCloud free trial?

No free trial of a paid personal plan is documented on pCloud's pages. The cheapest paid personal plan, Premium 500 GB, is $4.99 a month, billed monthly, as listed on pCloud's US pricing page on 3 October 2026. It is the smallest of pCloud's three paid personal plans, which are Premium, Premium Plus and Ultra.

Only pCloud Business, the team plan, has a 30-day free trial. pCloud's Business page and its help center differ on how many users the trial covers, so confirm the number of users when you sign up for the trial.

The 14-day money-back guarantee and its conditions

A paid personal pCloud plan has a 14-day refund window that starts on the day you pay, on a written request. pCloud's terms give a money-back window, not a refund for unused days, and the request must be explicit and sent inside the 14 calendar days. An approved refund is paid in full, to the original payment method, within 30 calendar days of confirming the request.

Canceling does not replace that request: pCloud's help center says canceling is not an official refund request. pCloud advertises a 14-day money-back guarantee beside prices that carry a crossed-out old figure, but its terms let it decline a refund on a purchase made through a promotion or discount, so do not count on a refund if you buy at a discounted price.

What the free Basic account leaves out

  • Recovery: Trash, where deleted files wait before permanent deletion, keeps them 15 days on Basic and 30 days on paid plans.
  • Shared links: passwords and expiry dates are features of the paid Premium plans, and Basic gets 50 GB of link traffic a month. Link traffic counts what other people view or download through your links each month.
  • Inactivity: a free account inactive for 12 months is permanently deleted along with its files. Paid accounts have no inactivity clause.

That last rule makes a free account a poor home for the only copy of a photo you cannot replace. Pick Basic to try Automatic upload and sharing on a small set of photos. Pick Sync.com to try a paid plan free for 30 days. Pick a paid pCloud plan when a written refund request inside 14 days is enough; pCloud pricing lists every plan and the pCloud review gives the full verdict.
