What Lifetime means in pCloud's terms

pCloud's terms define a Lifetime plan as lasting for the account owner's lifetime or 99 years, whichever is shorter, so it is never forever. The terms also let pCloud change or discontinue the service, and if pCloud ceases operation the account is terminated.

A Lifetime account has no inactivity clause, which a free account does: a free pCloud account inactive for 12 months is deleted. User accounts are not transferable between people; the pCloud Family plan instead gives up to 5 people each a private space. pCloud's help center recommends backing up all your content, so keep a second copy outside any one service.

What one payment covers: pCloud's pricing page lists one set of features under Included with every Premium plan, beside its Monthly, Annual and Lifetime tabs, among them pCloud Photos, pCloud Docs, password-protected links and phone gallery backup. Shared-link traffic, the monthly allowance for what other people download or stream through your links, is capped by plan, at 1000 GB on Premium 500 GB and 4 TB on Premium Plus 2 TB. Extra traffic is sold monthly or yearly only.

Lifetime or yearly: years until one payment pays off

On Premium 500 GB, $219 one-time equals about 4.4 years of the $49.99 yearly price. On Premium Plus 2 TB, $499 one-time equals about 5 years of the $99.99 yearly price, and Ultra 10 TB, $1,499 against $299.99 a year, also comes to about 5 years. These are pCloud prices as listed on 3 October 2026, and the years are this page's own arithmetic from them.

Icedrive's yearly figures are first-year prices and its page does not show the renewal price, so this page gives no break-even for Icedrive. pCloud pricing sets out the monthly and yearly prices.

Adding storage and refunds on a Lifetime plan

pCloud Lifetime plans add up across purchases to a maximum of 17.5 TB per account, or 17 TB for Family Lifetime: a 500 GB plan plus a 2 TB plan gives 2.5 TB. A new Lifetime plan does not replace the first, and an upgrade costs the full price of the new plan. Moving from a monthly or yearly pCloud plan to Lifetime goes through pCloud support.

A pCloud Lifetime purchase has the same 14-day refund window as a subscription, on a written request, and pCloud can decline a refund on a promotional purchase. Icedrive gives a 30-day money-back guarantee.

Icedrive lists it as included with Personal 500 GB, while pCloud's Encryption add-on is a separate $150 one-time, as listed on 28 September 2026. Icedrive also says heavy automation, NAS-style syncing or large archival workflows suit its subscription plans better. pCloud vs Icedrive compares the two services in full.

Pick pCloud for the lower one-time price at 500 GB and 2 TB, or Family for up to 5 users. Pick Icedrive Personal 500 GB when encryption must come included.
